Ocean & Marsh

Today we had fun in both the ocean and the marshes of Isle of Palms. We started our morning hitting the beach, and swimming in the ocean. The waves were calm and the water felt great! Cade had never seen wet sandy beaches like the Atlantic coast. So our sand toys were a little more like "mud" toys - when compared to the beaches we're familiar with. But it was fun learning about new places and trying new things.

Cade was so proud to have his own room this week! We pushed the 2 twin beds together so he could have a BIG bed (and so I wouldn't worry about him falling off) - and he loved watching Thomas The Train each night before falling asleep - on his OWN TV and DVD player. What fun way to spend your birthday week!

In the evening, we took a sunset dolphin cruise around the backside of the barrier island. Everything on the backside is marsh and totally different than the Atlantic side. We got to see some dolphins several pelicans which Cade LOVED! About an hour into the cruise, the weather took a turn, and we needed to head back in. But Cade thought it was fun - especially getting wet in the rain as we pulled into the marina!
